I am outside all year; I walk daily, walk errands, whatever I do outside, I will. But I needed a coat to keep me warmer that wasn’t for sports. I tried this coat on in a store but it was not on sale at that time (the ones in the store fit much better than this one, btw) but this coat was still the best fit for the price I had found anywhere, so I kept it. I always wear a medium winter coat which allows for a moderately bulky hoodie or under garment comfortably. I found the more wintery the coat (puffier) the more room I needed to allow for movement and sweaters or hoodies. The medium was too small and the large was a really nice fit; provided a little extra room to allow for bulkier undergarment but I also wasn’t swimming in it which is how most large sizes seem to fit on me. The seam at the shoulder was still at my shoulder where it should be, the underarm hit in a good place, plenty of room across the chest, but not excessive. This coat was probably 3” longer than the large I tried on in the store which bummed me out but whatever, it will keep me 3” warmer. The arms were nice and long! I tend to need a little extra length in a sleeve. These were really way too long and I considered sending it back but the fit was good so I just rolled the last 1” of the sleeve up and you cannot even tell. It was a good compromise. The quality is good and I love the pockets as many coats I’ve looked at had dumb pocket size or placement. I walked in some pretty freezing cold temps and was perfectly warm ! And because reviews for fit need a references-I am 5’5”, 34D, hips 38”, 135#.
