This hoodie was bought to replace an old coat I used to run outside and check the mail or feed the bird feeders, so I wasn't looking for much--but it is a lot nicer than I thought. It's much heavier (weight-wise) than it looks, and has a lovely, soft, sherpa lining throughout (even sleeves and hood). I haven't spent a lot of time outdoors in it, but it is very comfortable and seems like it will be warm--unless maybe it's real windy--we'll see. However . . . I cannot fathom why the holes where the ties come out were placed so much higher than the zipper, leaving a big gap where body heat could escape and wind could blow in. (And the holes weren't even level with one another.) I would have rated it five stars, except that it took me about an hour and a half to re-engineer it by adding new holes and finishing the edges so they wouldn't fray, and closing up the old ones. NOW it will serve me well.I will also say that I bought an XXL and I have a small head, but the way the ties were placed the strings just fit around my head without gathering at all, so a person with a large head who wanted to wear the hood might have the string across their mouth when it's tied.(1st pic. shows how the jacket was originally, and 2nd shows what I had to do to fix it.)
